"Savannah Sidewalk ”, 24” x 36” oil painting on masonite, 2007

Drawing since the age of three, I progressed to my first set of oil paints at eight.

Over the years I have worked with & through various mediums, & exper-imented with different styles & techniques.

Oil painting has become my passion- I love how the wet medium can be manipulated by such a simple tool to yield such complex emotions.

The subject for my work comes from the places that I have traveled from coast to coast. Summers in the mountains of Blue Ridge have influenced the common themes & backgrounds of mountains, trees & water in my pictures.

I also enjoy painting people, many in interesting situations, which I attribute to being from a large family of five kids with an artist mother & jazz musician father.

Some of my paintings are done in grids & segmented pieces to portray my dreams, thoughts & memories.

My favorite artists include van Gogh, Dali, Max Ernst & Andrew Wyeth.
